Acting for Performers: coming soon

Stage presence, not stage fright.

Acting for Performers is coming to CircArts, delivered with Set the Scene. We are not here to turn you into a screen actor. We are here to help you use your face, voice and body to tell a story, connect with an audience and feel confident on stage.

  • For Tinies, kids and teens, and adults if there is interest

Why acting at a circus school?

Because circus is theatre

The performers people remember do not just land the trick. They walk on stage like they belong there, they make the audience feel something, and they tell a story with every move.

That is what Acting for Performers is about. Our focus is stage presence, expression and confidence, so students feel at home in front of an audience, whether that is a showcase, an audition, a competition or a class presentation at school.

If you want to become a professional actor, there are acting schools for that. This is acting for performers.

Voice and public speaking

Projection, clarity and speaking in front of a group without freezing.

Character and story

Playing a character and telling a story through an act, not just a list of tricks.

Performance nerves

Simple tools to handle nerves and feel steady under the lights.

Working as an ensemble

Listening, reacting and supporting the performers around you.

Who it is for

Acting for every age

Classes will be grouped by age, so every student works at the right level.

Play-based drama for little ones: imagination, movement, simple stories and the confidence to join in.

Kids

Drama games, improvisation and characters, and the confidence to speak up and be seen.

Teens

Stage presence and character work for acts, auditions and public speaking.

Adults

If there is enough interest, we will run adult sessions too. Let us know on the form.

Good to know

Acting for Performers questions

Do I need any acting experience?

No. Classes will start from the basics, and every age group will work at its own level.

Is this an acting school?

No. If you want to become a professional actor, there are acting schools for that. Acting for Performers is about stage presence and confidence: helping circus artists and young performers use their face, voice and body to connect with an audience.

Will it help my circus performances?

Yes. Circus is theatre. Character, expression and presence turn a string of tricks into an act people remember, and they help in auditions, showcases and competitions too.

Who will run it?

Acting for Performers will be delivered at CircArts with Set the Scene.

When does it start, and what will it cost?

It is coming soon. Dates, times and prices will be announced to everyone on the interest list first.

Can adults join?

We would love to run adult sessions if there is enough interest. Tick adults on the form so we know.
