For adults who feel a little nervous

You don't need to be fit or flexible to start

Walking into an aerial class for the first time can feel like a big step. Most of our adults started with no fitness, strength or flexibility at all, and plenty of them felt exactly the same way.

Our adult beginner classes build strength gradually. Coaches break every skill down and give you options, so you work at your level and progress at your own pace. We train adults of all ages, including members well over 50.

  • Small classes of 8, so you are never lost in a crowd
  • A crew who cheer when you nail your first inversion
  • Strength, alignment and technique you'll feel in everyday life

What a first class is like

Here's what to expect

  1. Arrive 10 minutes early. We'll say hello, show you around the studio and help you find your class.
  2. Warm up together. Every class starts by getting bodies warm and ready, at a pace that suits beginners.
  3. Learn in small steps. Coaches break every skill into small, safe steps and give options for every body.
  4. Lots of turns. Never more than 8 per class, so everyone gets real coaching and plenty of goes.
  5. Leave with a plan. Your coach tells you which class to try next, so you keep building from where you are.

Wear fitted activewear. For aerials, leggings that cover the knees and a top that covers the underarms make grip more comfortable. Bring a water bottle. More answers in our FAQ.

Starter Pass questions

How do I try a circus or aerial class in Geelong?

Buy a CircArts Starter Pass: 3 beginner classes for $55, to use within 14 days at our Grovedale studio. There is a youth pass for kids and teens aged 5 to 17 (it also works for Tiny Circus) and an adult pass for 18+. Book any beginner classes that suit your week.

Do I need to be fit or flexible to start?

No. No fitness or flexibility is needed to start our adult beginner classes. Most of our adults started with no fitness, strength or flexibility at all. Beginner classes build strength gradually and coaches give you options for every skill.

What happens after the 3 classes?

Your coach will recommend the best next class. If you love it, weekly memberships start at $34 a week, or $88 a week for 3 classes. Adults pay no joining fee. Kids and teens pay a one-off $149 Registration + Welcome Kit (a CircArts tee, grip socks and their own Skills Passport), which is half price if they join 3 classes a week within 7 days of their first class. See all prices.

Can I watch my child's first class?

You are welcome to pop your head in the door, but kids focus best without an audience, so regular classes are drop and go. Tiny Circus is different: parents and carers stay in the room with their little one.

Where are you, and is there parking?

Warehouse 33, 33/8 Lewalan Street, Grovedale. There is 5-minute drop-off parking right out front, so quick drop-offs and pick-ups are easy. More in getting here and fitting it into your week.

Can I buy the Starter Pass more than once?

No. Each Starter Pass can be bought once per person, so it is made for your first 3 classes.
